As lots of athletes who have a coach will tell you that having a coach helps you to stay focussed and provides a plan for you to help you achieve your goal. There is a lot of “noise”and advice out there . A coach can help you to see your path clearly, and make decisions that will allow you to achieve your potential. Having been coached myself, I know how useful it is to have someone on your “team” to affirm your choices and to push you, when needed, to improve your performance.
What is the process?
Get in touch with me here, and we’ll set up an initial consultation. I’ll simply send you a form to fill out which will tell me a bit about your goals, strengths, challenges, and lifestyle, then I’ll be in touch to have a chat and clear up any questions you might have. This is also an opportunity for me to find out more about you, as this will help me to plan for you. Once we’ve had this conversation I’ll get you set up on Training Peaks and get you started on your way to triathlon success.
Do you charge more for your female specific coaching?
No, I believe women have different needs in coaching and I am using the Fitr Woman app with all my packages to help inform training. If you are peri-menopausal or menopausal then I will also adapt your training to suit your needs. I keep up to date with any developments in this area, so you can be assured that you are getting the latest advice.
Do I need to be a certain standard?
This is a common fear, that you are not “good enough” to have a coach. Anyone can benefit from having a coach and I have coached a range of people, from those who have never done a triathlon, to those competing as Age Group champions. All you need is a goal and a desire to get the best from yourself.
Do I need to have a background in endurance sports?
Not at all, as long as you are patient with the process you can build up your endurance. I have had clients go from only having done one discipline to becoming a triathlete, over the course of 6-9 months.
What about nutrition?
I offer stand alone nutrition packages if you are looking to improve your diet, as it’s something that can play a big part in recovery and race performance. It is something that we talk about frequently during prep for races, and during training sessions. I’m always happy to answer questions relating to this area.
Do you work with International athletes?
Yes, I love working with a range of people, we can maintain contact using a communication method that works internationally. Training Peaks is available to any athlete, and accessible at any time.
